Whisper Returns To Mayfield Farm

Whisper has returned home to Mayfield Farm permanently, to be ridden by Kerry Mack. The relationship with former rider Brett Parbery broke down only the day after Whisper was awarded a Qualification for the Olympic Games!

This was a great achievement for the partnership (Whisper and Brett) in their first few months at Grand Prix, and followed on their wonderful achievement at Dressage With the Stars coming second to Cinderella in the final Qualifier.

Whisper was so close to having the opportunity to represent Australia at the World Cup Final in Las Vegas, even before his 10th birthday, and in his first season of Large tour. What an exciting kur it was, Whisper and Brett making such a masculine picture, their music so dramatic.

It will be a totally different picture with Kerry, who hopes to compete this spring, starting initially at Prix St George. "Whisper is such a willing horse" Kerry reports. "there is a lot of ‘noise' in my aids that sometimes he gets confused and guesses what I want. He always guesses something difficult like piaffe or one time changes, but slowly we are getting to understand each other.

He is awesome to ride and I am really enjoying him. Richard Weiss is helping me sit a little taller and more still on him. Attention to position will be critical to any success we have, so am having to really buckle down to remove all those bad habits that hark back to my jumping days.
